Cozy times ahead, winter is here!
And so we're happy to share this delicious recipe for a pot of cacao. It consists of brewing a tea as a base for your cacao drink.
Boil 1 liter of water for 1 hour (or longer) with:
- 2 cinnamon sticks
- 1 anis star
- 3 slices of ginger
- 1 slice of orange
- 1 tbsp cloves
- other favourite additions like cumin or cardamon.
Strain the ingredients to use the tea to mix in the cacao.
1. 50~70°C is hot enough (don’t boil the cacao).
2. Add 100 gram cacao paste (15gr per cup of 150 ml).
3. Mix and blend into a frothy drink, use a (hand-)blender or milk whisk for example.
Serve with an optional dash of cinnamon/turmeric on top or sweeten to your taste.
Enjoy!
This is super easy to make for a group of friends. We also like these variations:
-
Add more cacao (150~200gr cacao/L) to make little cacao shots, great energyzers!
-
Add warm frothy oat, almond or coconut milk to a strong cacao shot (similar to a cappuccino).
-
Use a Golden Milk as a base for your cacao drink.
